After 2-and-a-half hour ride enjoying the picturesque Slovenian landscape you will reach Sevnica – the American first lady’s well-hidden hometown. During a short walk through the village you will learn about Melania Trump’s modest childhood. You can see the apartment block where she initially lived and the two-story house near the Sava river where her family later moved to.

In Sevnica, a village with an attractive historical center and the medieval castle, you can experience how her life looked like during her childhood, growing up in a rural Yugoslavian village at the border with the Balkans. Just a stone’s throw away is the Predjama Castle. Perched high atop a cliff and only accessible from one side, this stunning castle truly commands the surrounding countryside. It was a former hideout for the bold knight Erazem of Predjama, a “robber baron” and the subject of a romantic and beautiful legend. The current fortress is a Renaissance castle begun in 1583, but evidence indicates that this steep and imposing cliff has been fortified since at least the 13^th century. Following your visit time at the castle and some free time outside, you will return towards Trieste.
