This amazing tour will take you to the Lipica Stud farm and Škocjan Caves system, both located at the picturesque Karst region around one-hour drive from Ljubljana. Lipica Stud Farm is one of the most beautiful cultural and historical monuments in Slovenia, not far away from Trieste. A tradition of over 430 years can be found in the rich offer of various unforgettable experiences. Enjoy a guided walk beneath the crowns of mighty trees, enter the world of Lipica through the Museum of the Lipizzaner or take some rest in elegant style. After visiting the stud farm, you can enjoy some free time.
Your tour continues with short ride to the Škocjan Caves. These caves are a unique natural phenomenon, created by the river Reka. There you will see the biggest underground canyon on the world. The Škocjan Caves are on the UNESCO’s list of natural and cultural world heritage sites. The tour will take you through the underground bridge where you will cross the river over 40 m. The cave temperature is 9°C/ around 50°F and the walking tour takes about 2 hours. Do not forget to take a jacket and walking shoes. After exiting and before returning back to Ljubljana you may take education trail around the caves or you can enjoy some free time.
