Day 1: AIRPORT – LJUBLJANA – SLOVENIAN COAST

Upon arrival at the airport (Ljubljana, Trieste, Venice, Pula), you will meet your guide. After a short drive, stop in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Visit the attractive bridges, the most significant buildings and monuments of the old city center and the Ljubljana castle. The rest of the day is at leisure. You may shop or explore the city on your own. Afterwards, continue to the Slovenian coast. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 2: LAKE BLED – VRŠIČ PASS – SOČA RIVER

The day is designed to visit some of the famous Slovenian highlights. Drive past Ljubljana and visit an Alpine pearl resort Bled. Bled is known for the mountain lake with a tiny island in the middle and for the Bled Castle, which is built on a precipice above the city. We continue drive to the highest Slovenian road pass Vršič and through beautiful Trenta valley with emerald Soča River. Visit the Trenta museum with impressive exhibitions of the Trenta valley’s ethnic, cultural and historical heritage. Along the way some stops for magnificent views and photo moments. Return on Slovenian coast via Nova Gorica/Gorizia. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 3: TASTE OF COUNTRYSIDE

Start the day with free time to relax and enjoy. In the afternoon visit the Istrian countryside. Short drive to village of Lopar, where you can visit Brdinc’s house as a typical Istrian old house. Then, continue with a visiting of wine cellar and the tasting of the local wines, olive oil, olives, cheese and home-made bread. In the evening, head back to hotel. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 4POSTOJNA CAVE – LIPICA STUD FARM – KARST REGION

After breakfast head to Postojna for visit the cave which is the Europe’s longest show cave. Visit the underground world of magnificent caverns with the miniature electric train and by foot. Drive to Karst Region and visit the Lipica Stud Farm, a cradle of the world-famous Lipizzaner horses. Founded in 1580 during the Hapsburg monarchy, it has been boasting of the tradition of breeding and selecting pure-breed horses. We continue towards Lokev village where prosciutto of Lokev is made. It is considered to be the oldest prosciutto producer in Slovenia. In their offer are first class Karst meat products. Enjoy the tasting of their products. Return to hotel via Italy. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 5: SLOVENIAN COAST – AIRPORT

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Postojna cave: Constant temperature in the caves is around 50ºF, guests should dress accordingly  / The Postojna Cave is not wheelchair acceptable / Guests must be able to walk approx. 2 miles over a winding path / The walking surface in the cave is covered with an anti-slip material / Photography and video-taping are not allowed in the caves.
